don't you just love to begin again??

if we only get this journey once, why not make it full of amazing adventures

some people have been asking some questions.  i thought it might be helpful to post some of those answers here!

enjoy!

******************************************************************************

1) do you take all your own photographs? are some ‘borrowed’?

yes! every photo you see on here is mine (so if you love ‘em, thanks! if you hate them, feel free to give me some pointers!)

2) how do you come up with your recipes?

hummm.. great question! i’m often inspired by ingredients i find in local markets.  the more colorful something is, the more i’m driven to create a yummy meal with it!  i also LOVE to read cooking magazines and watch cooking shows on tv, and often find inspiration in the meals they are showcasing.  sometimes i also just love the adventure of creating recipe ideas that i would NEVER have cooked before!

3) you talk a lot about sourcing foods from local growers and farmers. do you ever shop at traditional grocery stores?

oh definitely. i try my darndest to find as many local foods as possible – from dairy to produce to meat to vinegars. in the summer, i really try to be a purist and only shop locally (and subsequently put a LOT of fresh produce in my deep freezer for winter!).  in the winter it is much harder to find local produce – and there are some days i just crave a big-ole-salad in january. i will cave every now and then and cross the threshold into a big-box grocery store, but i have real struggles purchasing things i know i can find locally (it hurts me to know i could be supporting my friend who churns butter but instead i’m putting land-o-lakes into my cart, ya know?).

Why are there no questions in the Frequently Asked Questions section? Is that a frequently asked question?

How do I know what’s “in season” in my area? How do I know if what I’m eating is grown locally?
